In addition to writing, publishing and promoting my books, I like nothing more than meeting with people who share my interest in writing and reading, especially my target audience and those who have read and enjoyed reading my books.
For 2024, I am offering talks, creative writing and publishing workshops and author events. I’m available for hire to schools, libraries, bookshops, writing circles, book clubs and festivals. Whatever the event, whoever the audience, talks and workshops can be tailored to suit need or requirement.
As well as being a writer and author, I am also a governor at a local Primary Academy, where I see first-hand the challenges educators have in teaching reading and writing. Telling children to do something is not always enough; they must want to do it.
It is statistically proven that meeting an author in real life, not only helps a child or a young person relate to how skills in reading and writing are beneficial to them, it can fundamentally improve their relationship and interest in books, fuelling a love affair with reading that will last a lifetime.
I strongly believe that the success of our children as they grow into adulthood evolves around their knowledge, understanding and use of the English language. My aim, as a governor and as an author, is to help them recognise this, because their futures depend upon it.
